Paolo Bettini is one of the most iconic Italian cyclists of all time. Nicknamed "Grillo" for his distinctive sprinting style, he won the Olympic gold medal in road cycling at the 2004 Games and claimed the world champion's jersey for two consecutive years, in 2006 and 2007.

Among his most prestigious achievements are two victories in the Giro di Lombardia, two in Liège-Bastogne-Liège, and one in Milano-Sanremo. Additionally, he dominated the World Cup for three seasons, demonstrating a consistency and versatility that few other cyclists can boast. He also collected stage wins in the Giro d'Italia, twice finishing with the points classification leader's jersey on his shoulders.

After retiring, he continued his career in the cycling world as the coach of the Italian National Team from 2010 to 2013, bringing with him the wealth of experience and knowledge gained during his top-level competitive career. His leadership and strategic vision have helped shape the future of Italian cycling.
